Travel has a Powerful Role to Play
At just 10 years old, a captivating image of the Pyramids of Egypt ignited my passion for exploration. Now, after journeying across the globe and working in the travel and tourism industry over a 30 year span, I've witnessed firsthand the impact travel can have on our planet.
I decided I wanted to be part of the solution in the travel arena and began the turn from mainstream itineraries to developing Extraordinary Journeys focused on exceptional eco travel experiences good for the environment, communities and the future traveller.

Unchecked tourism growth has seriously harmed the destinations we love. When places focus only on attracting visitors without considering sustainability, it often leads to degradation of the environment and local communities.
Studies show that increasing visitor numbers overwhelm local infrastructure and ecosystems, while careless development allows harmful practices to go unnoticed.
